ALAW today announced Gregory Thorne will assume the role of managing attorney for the law firm’s Georgia operation based in Atlanta.

Thorne began his career in the industry working with the real estate closing firm Morris Schneider Wittstadt (MSW); during which time he earned his law degree studying nights at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. After earning his Juris Doctor, Thorne was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2009 and continued with MSW as an attorney in the law firm’s Georgia foreclosure office.

Thorne was later named managing attorney over Georgia foreclosures for MSW and also ran the firm’s deed in lieu program. Most recently, Thorne had transitioned over to the firm’s title and closing operation, LandCastle Title, where he managed the Atlanta closing office. Thorne follows Yilin Chen as head of the Georgia office, who is departing the industry to pursue other opportunities.

“Thorne is a proven leader who brings extensive knowledge, experience, and wisdom to the position,” said Jim Albertelli, Founding Partner. “His client-focused philosophy will ensure a seamless transition and greatly benefit our clients in Georgia and firm-wide. We are fortunate to welcome an experienced leader like Thorne to the ALAW management team and confident he will raise the bar to a higher standard of excellence in Georgia.”

About Chen, Albertelli said, “Yilin is an excellent attorney who has contributed to ALAW’s growth and success in Georgia. We are grateful for her leadership in the Georgia office and wish her the very best with her next endeavor.”
